Open D and and playing left

I found a new toy (http://chordlist.brian-amberg.de/en/guitar/open_d/) My fingers and tendons hate you so much right now - helllllooooo stretching/range exercises - but this is awesome! I can totally see why people would open tune, especially to just work on the plucking/strumming hand.

Downside - Joy to the World by note, significantly harder (partially due to missing string). Silent Night by chord is coming together. Seriously can't thank you enough. I have missed this, but am legitimately getting farther in one night left handed than I did in two years of (admittedly sporadic) lessons and trying to figure stuff out on my own right.

Much appreciated!

But not by Samson. Samson hates you. He wants his quiet back.

  1. That is so awesome!! I have that page bookmarked even, I should have sent it to you lol! Should I still be concerned about writing a little post on open tuning?

Funny you started with Christmas songs. I find them super easy to play in fingerstyle. And open tuning makes it all the easier to do.
I'm happy you are enjoying it : )

    1. I don't really *understand* anything about it - I just found a page with a lot of pictures and when my fingers match the pictures my guitar sounds like I know what I'm doing... which I don't. So yes please.
